#postdildo Reading Series featuring Anahita Jamali Rad

Doors at 8pm
Reading at 830pm

UNIT/PITT and 8EAST are pleased to host the third installment of #postdildo #readingseries, featuring poet Anahita Jamali Rad.

ANAHITA JAMALI RAD is currently based on Tio’tia:ke on the traditional territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka peoples. Her work explores materiality, history, affect, place, and displacement. She has published a few chapbooks, one full-length collection entitled _for love and autonomy_, and is currently working on an apparel-based poetics project called Fear of Intimacy.

#postdildo #readingseries unfolds in conjunction with #postdildo #readinggroup and a book of experimental essays and poems and fantasies titled, not surprisingly, postdildo. Readers are invited
to not so much directly respond to postdildo’s call, but to strap it on as they so wish to do.

What makes a dildo special is that it is a ready-made cock, prosthetic, available and detached from any supposed owner who may cause damage.

#postdildo yearns for carnal natures, for alternative socialities and sexualities and desires.

#postdildo asks how to fuck without causing harm?

How shall you fuck without causing harm?

#postdildo #readingseries and its assemblages are situated on the stolen Indigenous lands of the Musqueam, Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw, Stó:lō , and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
