Time’s Up: Book Launch and Reading

times-up-launchJoin us on February 10 at 7pm for the launch of Time’s Up!, a book project by Abbey Hopkins, Curtis AuCoin and Dan Pon, and some readings by Curtis AuCoin, Cole Nowicki, Alison Braid and Alyssa Dusevic. Time’s Up! is the final publication for Limited Time Library @ Unit/Pitt. Writer in Residence for the duration of the library, Curtis AuCoin has gathered material from the contents of the library, and assembled them together in a two-part piece entitled Hill of Beans. The readers are from various backgrounds, brought together by the library reading various materials. We look forward to seeing you!

Abbey Hopkins is an emerging Vancouver based curator whose work focuses on the inclusivity of artist run centres and the history of conceptual and installation based artworks in Vancouver. Her background is in Art History, and is finishing a degree in Art, Culture and Cinema Studies from Simon Fraser University’s School for Contemporary Art.

Curtis AuCoin is a writer/musician completing his BFA in Creative Writing at University of British Columbia. He specializes in alternative ways of writing by engaging with visual art, sounds, and chance encounters to redefine the everyday. His unpredictable match-ups of words, ideas, and feelings are playful and as he would hope, thought-provoking.

Dan Pon is a librarian at Langara College and the West Vancouver Memorial Library. He also manages the archives at grunt gallery.
