The guide will be available for purchase at Liquidation World-hosted events in July, beginning with Symphony of Fire at The Cinematheque on July 5, 6pm.

Editor’s Note
The contributors to this book all have some connection to DIY community projects, ones which in our eyes have managed to operate within existing systems like retail or government funding, while resisting the allure of becoming absorbed into those systems (even when it can be highly rewarding and often much simpler).
Adaptable in their modes of survival, but uncompromising in their ideals.
This is often the more difficult path, but the outcome is increased autonomy, increased chaos and the possibility of new, unpredictable things to occur.
We begin this book with a short series of guidelines on How to Maximize Your Autonomy. These guidelines can be meditating upon when you are feeling spiritually misguided in your creative / community projects, when you are developing a new collaborative project, or when you simply need affirmation of the benefits of being difficult.
The format of these guidelines as short directives and observations was inspired by the zine How to Play Guitar by Matt Baldwin (2022). That zine made me return to the guitar with a new understanding of its power, and I hope the following guide stirs a similar affect in the reader.
