Soloman Chiniquay is a documentary photographer and filmmaker living between xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, səl̓ilwətaɁɬ territory and his homelands of Treaty 7 territory. His lens-based work explores the ways he is welcomed to witness expressions of Indigeneity, creating imagery that attempts to show, in sometimes raw ways, the land and the people on it, the ways they use and connect to the land, and the artifacts they leave on it. https://www.solomanchiniquay.com
Louie Villanueva is a photographer based in Moh’kins’tsis, located on Treaty 7 territory—also called Calgary, Canada. Born to parents of Filipino descent and self-taught in the practice of photojournalism, Villanueva explores the dialectic of art and craft in photography. His fascination with Zen Buddhist practice intermingles with philosophies of art and applying his way of seeing to everyday activities—walking to work, running errands, and parties. He is a preferred photographer for the University of Calgary, peddles the tools of the trade at The Camera Store, photographs weddings for Light Theory, and operates Neat Film Lab. http://www.louiev.ca/
