ReIssue.pub: an online art writing magazine by UNIT/PITT

ReIssue is an interdisciplinary art writing magazine focused on shaping and sustaining a contemporary west coast discourse rooted in critical engagement with experimental art practices.

ReIssue soft-launched at reissue.pub in 2021 thanks to the generous support of Vancouver Foundation’s Systems Change Grant, UNIT/PITT, and VIVO Media Arts Centre. ReIssue is an online magazine for art writing, and it also have a secondary purpose to research sustainable publishing. This includes reimagining and building upon existing models of print distribution, fairly compensating contributors, and striving to embody the intentions outlined in ReIssue’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

In its first year, ReIssue has produced:

  • 42 text and creative submissions
  • 5 FreeSchool public workshops
  • 5 Speaker Series talks
  • 3 event partnerships
  • 1 print publication

If you would like to directly support ReIssue, you can donate online safely and securely through CanadaHelps.org. Donations go through UNIT/PITT Society for Art and Critical Awareness, and are eligible for charitable tax receipts. All contributions, no matter the amount, help ReIssue continue their commitment towards providing industry standard contributor fees, and will also support future programming — such as the Speaker Series and FreeSchool workshops.

Donations of $75 CAD and over qualify for a limited-edition ReIssue Year 1 Anthology and a ReIssue Tote.
