The Apology is a new media installation featuring rare colour footage from 1941 Vancouver. This work juxtaposes the modern city with Aboriginal Children at an undisclosed Residential School and with a voice over of the Apology by Stephen Harper to the First Nations, Inuit and Metis People of Canada, producing a multi-layered response to the production and reconsideration of contemporary history.
This work can be viewed nightly in the front window of UNIT/PITT Projects, 15 E Pender St., Vancouver. Screenings begin after sunset and continue until 11 pm, seven days a week.
