Navel of the Möbius Sound Series

Navel of the Möbius ::: Experiments in Continuous Deformation

Pairs of collaborators will enter into a ‘sonic topological space,’ whose limits, continuity and connectivity emerge and morph through the contingent interplay of the performers’ shared signals and take shape by way of attuned listening and response.

Each person in a duo will have part of their sound sources fed into the other’s setup such that the setups generate their own responses to the signals. From the non-random but non-measurable sound that emerges, the gear becomes somewhat of a third collaborator (or… the Möbius’ navel), guiding the listening and response of improvisers through its own twisted structure of continuous deformation.
