Last week was one of our busiest — the end of God Save The Queen, the beginning of Spaces of Contestation, and four nights of Wrong Wave 2013: Revenge of the New Puritan — so we’re taking a short break from public programming. We’re still around, even though the doors are closed.
The next Pitt events are coming up quickly though: the next Spaces of Contestation talk is on Tuesday, November 12, by Jamie Peck. Close on the heels of that, we’ll be opening again with a curatorial residency by Arnaud Desjardin and the Everyday Press with John Slyce. Re: The Fox is a publishing project and exhibition that both celebrates and dissects The Fox, a magazine of criticism and theory that published only three issues in New York in the mid-1970s. Re: The Fox includes “live” publishing and printing in the gallery, and coincides with work that Arnaud is doing elsewhere, at Emily Carr University and Satellite Gallery, during the month of November.
More details on upcoming projects are on their way soon. In the meantime, thanks to Sydney Hermant, Pacific Cinematheque, the Western Front, and SFU Woodward’s, and Jen Weih, Justine Chambers, Elizabeth Fischer (and orphans and dogs), Mark Szabo, New Moon Poncho Deejays, Yuriko Iga, Kensington Gore, White Poppy, and everyone else who contributed to Wrong Wave, especially Michael Clark and Charles Atlas for making Hail the New Puritan; thanks to Mariane Bourcheix-Laporte, SFU Institute for the Humanities, and Geoff Mann for kicking off Spaces of Contestation; and thanks to Chris Bose, MaRvIN StRAnGE, Nigel Z, and Bracken Hanuse Corlett for God Save The Queen.
A quick breather, and we’ll be back.
